Beauty// Rimmel - Apocalips Lip Lacquer

Rimmel's Apocalips were a product I saw a lot on beauty blogs last year, and really wanted to try.
 However, they haven't been released in Japan ( and I doubt they will).

So I haven't been able to try them ...until this year!
On my trip back to the UK at Xmas, I was wondering around Superdrugs when I saw them.
What exactly are they though? Lipstick? lipgloss?
Rimmel say they're neither. They are said to give lipstick colour payoff but with lipgloss shine.


Any way, I picked up the 3 latest colours released by Rimmel. Eclipse ( deep red), Aurora (coral)and Across the Universe ( berry).

Eclipse, Aurora and Across the Universe swatched in that order.

They remind me of Sleek's Pout paints but with a convenient wand for applying. The wand is a doe foot applicator but has a little well in the middle that picks up colour, I really like the wand. It'd really easy to apply. 

Overall, I love these. The colour selection is wonderful and the formula is amazing for a drug store brand.

 Super pigmented, not drying, and long lasting. I highly recommend these.

Beauty:Sleek pout paint

I wanted to try the OCC lip tars when they were released, but at the time they were difficult to get hold of and expensive for the UK( I believe they're easier to get now).  So naturally when I heard Sleek were releasing a similar product  (Pout Paints), I knew I would be buying some. 

That was back in ....ahh 2011, I think.:O

So what are they .....Pout paints( and Lip tars) are intense lip pigments that are supposedly to be long lasting and can be worn as they are or by mixing together to create new colours.
Sleek currently have 11 colours (£4.99 for 8ml) including blue and white, which can be added to the others to darken or lighten ....or you can wear them as they are if you're brave enough:D.

I bought Pinkini ,Mauve Over and Minx before I left the UK , and the lovely Bloomzy sent me Pin Up and Lava last year.

Beauty:Make up brushes/Real Techniques travel essentials set

I've been meaning to make this post for well over a year!!!!
So a little history. I always use brushes for my make up, never the ones you get free(they tend to be shit)
I think its important to have good tools but not a necessity.By that I mean I've seen people do amazing make up using cheap nasty brush you'd get for a couple of quid and then people who spend a fortune on mac brushes who's make up is just bleh or pretty shit. My point being that they're an aid not a magic wand.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture#06 which if your following my twitter you might know of my love /lust for YSL lipsticks......I really do love them

 naturally i had to put it next to my other YSL lipstick(rouge volupte #7) ...and as wonderful as the packaging is ,it does have a downside..fingerprints and smudges show up reallly well:(

 Comparing the colours.....#7 is a light pink where as #6 is peacher,their different formulas too.

and then on to the biggest purchase and lust for a while the Urban Decay naked palette..again if you've been following my twitter you'll know all about my longing for this item.It came out agesss ago but at the time i didn't buy it as i didn't have the money for it and figured bah i'll get it later.Big mistake,its been sold out ever since :( but finally i managed to get it and for cheaper:S
Debenhams were having a sale at the time,something like 10% off or something either way i picked it up for £28 pounds which sure does beats the stupid £40+ some people where charging on ebay ..the nerve of some people eh!

enough rambling..on to the pictures..no swatches as their about a million already by other bloggers on the web.

 I'm so glad i have this,its quickly become a staple in my everyday make up and it really is a beautiful palette.
Packaging could be better(its this velvet stuff that picks up everything) and the brush I got with it ,is pretty lousy tbh but im happy with itXD

Picked up the new Maybelline gel liner when it was on offer at boots,I saw that it was rated quite highly in gal magazines so was interested to try it....
 Comparing it to my very old(probably needs replacing)MAC gel liner

 Its early days  as I haven't used it alot so I can't say for sure what I think of it ,the brush that came with it thou is growing on me but I have suspicions the gel liner its self isn't as good as my MAC.I'll try and write a proper review once I know what I think of it:)

Barry-m lipstick in 57(super neon pink..bought it instead of buying MAC candy yum yum) and Shu Uemura curler I bought after reading Jenny's post about it..<3 it!

New schedule book as mine ran out 2 weeks before I got this one and I was utterly lost! Then I received  unexpected items from the sun...way back in feb I tried to claim this free Barry-m kit from my local Superdrugs but was told that they were out of them...this was on the day the paper came out.I was shocked but I emailed the sun and they told me to send in the coupon and then I forgot about it and bam this arrived.

Bought my first Illamasqua product(the other item was a gift for my friend)....you'd think being the make up lover I am that I'd love Illamasqua and lust after it but well I don't ..... it baffles me that I don't but well they just don't do anything for me.I'll keep an eye out thou,maybe I'll change my mind:)

Picked up some Sleek lipsticks on a 2 for £6 thingy,rather impressed by them.The formula reminds me of my MAC Amplifed creme lipsticks:) and their in gorgeous colours too!

More random daily purchases such as mouthwash and toothpaste(riveting eh!)

Love the Cushion thou!I love skylines,and the different layers of this one sealed it for me.

Then finally I took advantage of the Buy one get one free offer that was on all Disney films and added to my Pixar collection XD

Life:Recent purchases,xmas gifts etc feat MAC,Diamond Lashes,Canmake,RI and more

I've falling so behind in my blogging and commenting ,im trying to catch up but it difficult when you've a backlog of photos from Novermber to post.

Anyways I compiled my "recent" purchases,some of these are from as far back a November:O so it looks like an epic haul post when really its things I've acquired over the last 2 and half months.Just bear that in mind when you view please:)

From the week before xmas I received a parcel which contained the diamond lashes and Canmake I asked the lovely Emma to get for me in Japan,she also included a letter:),some fliers/promo and a little extra gift of a W<3C sticker(which i currently can't think where to put)

 I almost brought these when I meet up with Emma in the summer but I talked myself out of it as i was trying to be good with my money. Inevitability I crumbled and couldn't resist.I haven't worn them yet as I haven't had a function I felt they fitted:(

 Eyebrow razors from ebay,when I take up close photos of my eye make up I am always annoyed by the little blondish hairs I can see.Silly I know but they bug me.So far I am liking these,it means if I miss a bit of my brow(which I do often) this will catch it.

 My younger sister had a friends and family discount thing just before Xmas,I had gone for present buying until it dawned on me that I pretty much already knew what and where I was getting peoples gifts from.Thus trip was pointless.So I ended up with some very pretty Revlon polishes and a few hair products I wanted to try out.

 More ebay brow things.Not that impressed with this one.

 A Xmas gift from my friend that I naughtily opened early,but in my defence it was small so I was worried it would get lost:D

 Picked up some Cath Kidston Cuticle Cream from TKMaxx:D I quite like it

MAC had free shipping before Xmas ,so I picked up the prep+prime powder as my Candydoll powder has finally run out and 2 eye shadows though one of them was a xmas gift from my mum to me.

Lol a month late for this....anyways my Christmas was quiet but nice,family and good food.:).

This year I asked for perfume,socks,Girl with the Dragon tattoo book,ds case and candles.There wasn't really anything else I wanted to be honest:O

I was quite shocked to find I had been brought 2 perfumes sets:O

 and then pretty much everything I had asked for ..

 So I now actually have a collection of perfumes (the Chanel was brought around xmas too)

In the sales...I didn't go to the sales much as I was struck down with a virus.When I was feeling better I got this ring at Accessorize  and the leather jacket from my previous post(which i ended up returning as it didn't suit me)

I never wear gold jewlerry as i don't think its suits me as well as silver does but this is still pretty.

 Oh god more MAC(self imposed MAC ban from now on)

Madga posted before about the Dazzleglasses and I just impulsively brought one.

 Finally found the Gosh Holographic polish, and theres a better photo of the Barry-m polish i posted in my bb spam.Highly recommend that barry-m colour.

 However the same can't be said for the Gosh polish.Gorgeous shade,appalling formula.:(

Again in the most recent post I spoke about a xmas present I got from a friend,unfortunately practicality was an issue and I had to exchange it for a bag that I could actually fit my possessions in.(I spoke to him about it and he was fine with it)

It was such a shame because the other bag was gorgeous and sleek but due to the way the internal compartments where laid out, if I did fit all my things in it I couldn't close it.

So I exchanged it for these...

 

 

 This was actually the bag I was originally going to get before I got lured away by the sleekness of the other one.

I've wanted it since September or October (or whenever it popped up in store) I'm really happy with it,it fits all my things in perfectly (with room) and can work for both casual and a little more dressy.:D
